Lisa Vittozzi is part of a younger generation that is making the women’s competitions more competitive with each passing week. Although only 22-years-old, Vittozzi has been stepping on international podiums since 2013. That year, she won a sprint Silver medal at the IBU YJWCH in Obertilliach. Since that time, she has continued to raise her game steadily, with a growing reputation as reliable and accurate on the shooting range. The 2014-15 season was her first full year in the big show; at the IBU World Championships in Kontiolahti her clean shooting leadoff leg in the second leg in the women’s relay helped propel Italy to the Bronze medal. Since that time, she has owned the leadoff leg, handling both the pressure and shooting with the poise of a veteran.

The 2016-17 season was a breakthrough for Vittozzi. She cracked the top 30 in the World Cup Total Score for the first time, finishing 27th. Clean shooting in the sprint at the IBU World Championships in Hochfilzen brought her within a hair of the podium finishing in personal best 4th place, just .2 seconds behind Laura Dahlmeier in the Bronze medal spot. She matched that great shooting in the Kontiolahti sprint, again just missing the podium in 6th. That set up the first podium of her career the next day, with a single-penalty third place in the pursuit.

Vittozzi opened the 2017-18 season on the podium once again, as part of Italy’s second place mixed relay team at Östersund. The sharpshooting Italian remained hot for the rest of the season , ending up with six podiums including a personal-best 2nd place in the Kontiolahti mass start. she also won an Olympic mixed relay Bronze medal at the 2018 OWG in Pyeongchang. The season was capped by Lisa's 6th place finish in the World Cup Total Score.

After the first trimester of the 2018-19 season, Vittozzi already had three podiums and a women's relay victory at Hochfilzen, indicating another big season ahead.
